Professor/Senior Software Architect
Wolfgang Mauerer is a professor of theoretical computer science at the
technical university of applied sciences Regensburg, and a senior key
expert and project manager at Siemens Corporate Research, Corporate
Competence Centre Embedded Linux, where he deals with establishing
Linux in innovative and demanding areas. His academic research centers
on finding links between technical and social aspects of software
development using quantitative statistical methods and machine
learning; research results are transferred into practise via
contributions to the open source project Codeface.
He has published numerous widely translated books and articles, and
holds a PhD in theoretical physics from the Max Planck Institute for
the Science of Light. His speaking experience includes various Linux
Foundation events, embedded conferences and academic panels,
conferences and workshops.
